Water in a basement almost never shows up at a convenient time. It's usually after a band of rain has been parked over Wake County all night, or the power blinked off for ten minutes during a summer storm and the sump pump never came back on. Whatever happened, you need it out, and you need somebody who actually picks up the phone. That's us. Call Pure Air North Carolina at 877-371-7873 and we'll start moving today.

When you need basement water extraction

If you're walking down the basement stairs and hearing a squelch instead of a footstep, you're past the wait and see stage. Sometimes the signs are quieter than that. A musty smell that hits you halfway down. A dark line creeping up the drywall. Baseboards starting to cup. A sump pit that's full and silent.

Around here the usual suspects are pretty predictable. Heavy rain piling onto our tight Piedmont clay, which doesn't drain well on its best day. Sump pumps dying during a Duke Energy outage. Foundation cracks that quietly opened up over a dry summer and then drank up the first real downpour of fall. Burst supply lines and failed water heaters in finished basements out around Brier Creek and North Hills. Older houses inside the Beltline backing up through a floor drain when the city stormwater can't keep up.

Waiting a day costs more than people think. Mold can start colonizing wet drywall inside 24 to 48 hours, and most insurance policies expect you to act sooner than that.

Our process

When you call, we send a tech with truck-mounted extraction gear, submersible pumps, commercial air movers, and dehumidifiers. Enough to handle a finished walk-out or an unfinished utility basement.

On arrival we shut off power to anything affected, find the source, and start pulling water out. After that we lift saturated carpet pad, pop baseboards where we have to, and set up containment so we're drying what actually needs drying instead of running fans at the whole house. Moisture meters and thermal cameras tell us where water has wicked into framing or behind walls. A wet vac will never find that.

Most single family Raleigh basements are pumped and stable inside the first visit. Drying equipment then runs for three to five days, depending on how saturated things are, what the humidity is doing that week, and how much finishing material is involved. We come back daily to check readings and pull the equipment when the numbers are where they need to be.

Cost in Raleigh

Pricing comes down to a handful of things. How much water we're pulling. Whether it's clean, gray, or contaminated. How many square feet are affected. How much finishing material has to come out. How long the drying gear runs. A slow leak under a utility sink is a very different job from six inches across a finished basement.

You get a written quote before any equipment runs. We walk through it with you. The number you sign is the number you pay. If your insurance is involved, we talk to the adjuster directly so you're not stuck in the middle.

Why choose us

Pure Air North Carolina is local and IICRC trained. We pick up around the clock and run same day service across Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Garner, and most of Wake County. Every job comes with a satisfaction guarantee and a full set of moisture readings and photos for your records and the insurance file.

The crew that shows up lives here. We've pumped basements after tropical systems sweeping up from the coast, burst pipes during a cold snap a couple of winters back, and a lot of ordinary Tuesday-night sump failures in between. We know what Piedmont water damage looks like because we see it every week.

Don't let it sit

Every hour the water stays where it shouldn't be, the bill goes up and so does the mold risk. Pick up the phone, tell us what's going on, and we'll be on the way. Pure Air North Carolina, 877-371-7873.
