You can see the stain on the ceiling, or feel the soft spot in the hallway. What you can't see is how far the water actually went. In Raleigh that matters more than most places, because water in our houses tends to travel sideways through framing and then sit against the heavy red clay we build on. Pure Air North Carolina maps the whole footprint of the moisture so you know what's wet and what isn't before anyone starts cutting drywall. We can be on site today.

When you need moisture mapping

If your washing machine line let go overnight, if a summer storm pushed water under the back door, or if Crabtree Creek crept into your garage during the last tropical system, get a map done before any demo. Same goes for the slow stuff. A pinhole leak behind a kitchen wall. An upstairs HVAC condensate pan that's been overflowing for weeks. A crawl space that smells different after a wet spring than it did in February.

Waiting is what turns a small dry-out into a mold job. Our summer dewpoints sit in the 70s for weeks at a time, so anything wet inside a wall cavity in July is still wet in August, and microbial growth starts showing up at the 48 to 72 hour mark. Mapping tells you where the water stops so the spread does too.

Our moisture mapping process

A technician shows up in a marked Pure Air van and walks the affected area with you first. We want to hear the story before we trust the meters. From there it's thermal imaging to spot temperature differences behind finished surfaces, then pin and pinless moisture meters at gridded intervals across walls, baseboards, subfloor, and ceiling.

Crawl spaces get checked separately because they behave differently down there. That's especially true in the older brick ranches around Five Points, Hayes Barton, and parts of North Hills, where the original vapor barriers have usually given up by now. You leave with a labelled floor-plan diagram showing every wet reading and the moisture content as a percentage, plus a clear scope for drying. Most residential maps take ninety minutes to three hours depending on square footage.

Moisture mapping cost in Raleigh

Pricing depends on the size of the affected area, how many rooms or floors are involved, whether we're checking a crawl space or attic, and how easy the suspect cavities are to access. A single-room kitchen leak in a Brier Creek townhome is a different job than mapping a flooded lower level in an older Oakwood home with plaster walls.

You get a written, upfront quote before any work starts, and that quote is the price you pay. No trip charges tacked on the back end. If your insurance carrier is involved we'll write the documentation in the format adjusters here actually want, so the claim moves faster.

Why choose us

Pure Air is locally owned and runs out of the Triangle, so we already know which subdivisions sit on flood-prone clay, which ITB neighborhoods still have galvanised supply lines slowly failing, and how Raleigh-area adjusters like their reports formatted. We're IICRC certified and fully insured. The phone is answered by a real person seven days a week.

Same-day response isn't a slogan. Most calls get a tech on site within a few hours. Every job is backed by a satisfaction guarantee: if the map misses something, we come back at no charge and make it right.

Call now

Water doesn't keep business hours, so neither do we. Call 877-371-7873 and we'll have a certified technician at your door today with the equipment to find every drop. Better to know now than open a wall in three weeks and find out the hard way.
